How to use Building Directory
How to use Building Directory
Create a clear wayfinding directory for floors, rooms, departments and visitor destinations.
Overview
Create a clear wayfinding directory for floors, rooms, departments and visitor destinations.
Before you begin
List every floor or area, its rooms, display labels, direction arrows and an optional map or QR destination.
Good to know
- Preview before publishing, especially when the screen orientation changes.
- A stable connection is required for live data; previously synced playlist content remains available according to player cache rules.
- Do not close the dashboard until a save action confirms success.
Publishing
After saving the app, add its slide to a playlist and publish that playlist to the required screen. Use Preview to confirm the layout before sending it to a live display.
Step by Step Guide
Step 1: Create the directory
Enter the building name and select an optional logo.
Step 2: Add floors or areas
Create each floor, wing or public area in the order visitors should see it.
Step 3: Add rooms
Add room or department names and choose the correct direction arrow for each entry.
Step 4: Configure QR directions
Optionally add a map URL and label so visitors can scan directions on a phone.
Step 5: Choose the layout
Select landscape or portrait, a theme, colors and the desired directory arrangement.
Step 6: Preview and publish
Check arrow clarity and text fit, then save and publish the app slide.
