How to use Ad Campaign
How to use Ad Campaign
Schedule selected slides as advertisements, control delivery goals and review proof-of-play results.
Overview
Schedule selected slides as advertisements, control delivery goals and review proof-of-play results.
Before you begin
Create the advertising slides first. Decide the campaign dates, target screens, pacing, play goal and budget.
Campaign modal field guide
Use these definitions to configure an OOH campaign correctly and explain the delivery plan to the advertiser.
Campaign identity
- Campaign name: The internal flight name shown in the campaign portfolio and reports. Use a clear format such as Client – Offer – City – Month.
- Advertiser / client: The brand or agency buying the campaign. This makes client-ready reports easy to identify.
- Campaign code: Your insertion-order, job or billing reference, for example NCR-Q3-042. Use one unique code per contracted flight.
- Objective: The commercial purpose, such as brand awareness, store visits, product launch or lead generation.
Flight and daypart schedule
- Start date & time: The earliest moment the campaign is eligible to deliver. It does not force an immediate play; pacing and available ad breaks still apply.
- End date & time: The final eligible moment. The campaign stops delivering after this time even when its planned-play target is not complete.
- Delivery weekdays: Select only the days included in the media plan. For example, choose Monday to Friday for an office-audience campaign.
- All-day delivery: Enable when ads may play throughout every eligible day. Disable it to use a daily daypart.
- Daily start / Daily end: The repeating time window on each selected weekday, such as 11:00–15:00 for a restaurant lunch campaign.
Pacing and placement
- Delivery priority (1–10): Controls the share of eligible ad breaks when several campaigns compete. Use 5 for normal delivery; raise it only for an urgent or under-delivering flight.
- Planned plays: The contracted total number of verified plays expected across all selected screens. It drives delivery progress and pacing percentage. Use 0 only when no fixed play target applies.
- Ad placement: Distributed ad breaks inserts one eligible creative between normal content and is recommended for OOH. End of content loop inserts one ad only when the regular loop ends.
- Content slides between ads: The minimum regular-content spacing before the next ad break. A value of 3 means one campaign creative may be inserted after three normal slides.
- Maximum plays per screen/hour: A frequency cap for each screen. Use 0 for automatic pacing, or set a cap to prevent overexposure at one location.
Commercial controls
- Currency and Budget: The campaign spending cap. Delivery stops when calculated spend reaches this amount. Use 0 only when budget enforcement is not required.
- Buying model – CPP: Cost per verified play. Spend is calculated from qualified proof-of-play events multiplied by the entered rate.
- Buying model – CPM: Cost per 1,000 estimated impressions. Estimated screen audience supports impression and spend reporting.
- Buying model – Fixed: A fixed amount for the whole flight. Use it when the insertion order is sold as one package rather than per play.
- Rate: The agreed CPP or CPM rate. For an existing CPP plan left at 0, SignMitra can use Budget divided by Planned plays for pacing calculations.
- Status after save: Draft saves without delivery; Active synchronizes to eligible targets; Paused temporarily stops delivery; Completed closes the flight.
Creatives, screens and reporting
- Advertising slides: Select at least one approved slide. Only one creative is inserted in each eligible ad break, so multiple creatives rotate without blocking normal content.
- Seconds: The contracted display duration for that creative. Use the duration approved in the media plan, commonly 10, 15 or 20 seconds.
- Plays / loop: The relative number of appearances for a creative within campaign rotation. Keep it at 1 for equal rotation; increase it only when one creative needs extra weight.
- Target screens: Select only screens included in the advertiser’s booked locations. A campaign will not deliver to unselected screens.
- Audience: The estimated viewers per play for that screen. Use a documented venue estimate so CPM and impression reports remain defensible.
- Campaign notes: Record insertion-order terms, approval references, location restrictions, creative instructions or client commitments.
- Save and synchronize: Validates the campaign, saves its settings and updates internal delivery data. System-managed campaign playlists remain hidden from the normal playlist list.
Quick OOH example
- Restaurant lunch offer: Run Monday–Friday from 11:00 to 15:00, use Distributed placement after every 3 content slides, set an appropriate per-screen hourly cap, select the approved 10-second creative and only restaurant-area screens.
- Proof-of-play check: After activation, review the campaign report for verified plays by date, screen and creative. Export CSV or print the filtered report for the client.
Good to know
- Campaign playlists are system-managed and intentionally hidden from normal playlist lists.
- Use paced delivery to distribute ads naturally between normal content.
- Proof-of-play is recorded only after qualified playback.
Publishing
Ad Campaign does not require you to manage a normal playlist. Select the advertising slides and target screens in the campaign, then save it as Active. SignMitra synchronizes the internal delivery data and inserts eligible creatives into paced ad breaks between regular screen content.
